According to Novyny.live: Kyiv City Council deputy Andriy Vitrenko has announced that all municipal enterprises in the capital have been granted 100% exemptions from military conscription for their employees. This policy extends beyond core staff to include even street cleaners, who are also covered under this provision. As Ukraine continues its defense against the ongoing invasion, maintaining essential city services is a critical priority.
Vitrenko, a member of the 'Servant of the People' party, stated that all city management and service companies in Kyiv now have full exemptions for their personnel.
"Even street cleaners are receiving exemptions," he emphasized.The measure is intended to ensure the stable operation of Kyiv's vital utility and maintenance services.
Concerns Over Vacancies and Potential Abuse
Vitrenko also highlighted the current number of job vacancies within the municipal sector.
"There are many vacancies, and I will monitor the situation to ensure this does not become a mechanism for draft evasion," the deputy noted.Authorities are thus attempting to balance the need to support critical infrastructure with the demands of national mobilization.
Granting full conscription exemptions to Kyiv's municipal workers underscores the local government's aim to preserve stability in the city's life-support systems during wartime.
