The volume of recruit training in the Armed Forces of Ukraine has decreased

The number of people simultaneously training in training centers has decreased from 35,000 to 20,000. This was stated by the head of the training department in training centers of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Vasily Rumak. Rumak believes that the decrease in this figure is related to the decline in the mobilization resource.

Currently, there are more than 25 training centers that are working on improving the quality of training. They plan to increase the training duration to 1.5 months and transform the instructor training system.

Previously, Member of Parliament Roman Kostenko expressed the opinion that if a Ukrainian can become a deputy at the age of 21, they can also serve in the army at the age of 20. But the former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the current Ambassador of Ukraine to the UK, Valeriy Zaluzhny, did not support the mobilization of the youth.

It should be noted that the draft of fit men aged 18 to 25 was limited. Currently, such citizens can be drafted only with written consent.

Several members of the Rada Committee on National Security, Intelligence, and Defense urged the General Staff to lower the minimum draft age to 20. But the General Staff believes that this is not necessary at the moment.
