The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, visited the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Zmiyny and the gas extraction platforms in the Black Sea. Together with the military, he honored the memory of the fallen defenders of the waters. The Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine reported this.The head of Military Intelligence inspected the forces and means participating in the defense of the waters, including the 'Boyka towers' - gas extraction platforms that came under Ukrainian control. The military honored the memory of the fallen soldiers during the liberation of Zmiyny and the Ukrainian territorial waters. There was also an awarding of the soldiers of the GUR from the 'Timur Special Unit' for their feats in the Black Sea.The Russian troops were removed from Zmiyny after a long occupation. On the night of June 30, 2022, the Russians were forced to evacuate from the peninsula after 126 days of occupation. This resulted in the loss of control over part of the waters of the Black Sea for Russia. On the same day, the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down an enemy helicopter.Ukrainian forces continue the fight for their territorial integrity and control over the Black Sea, demonstrating confidence in their capabilities in resisting the aggressor.
