NATO expects peace in Ukraine soon: what Rutte said.
According to ТСН: NATO expressed hope for a quick end to the war in Ukraine. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte noted in an interview with El Pais that he supports Trump's words, who emphasized: 'this slaughter must stop.'
Expectations for negotiations
Rutte stressed the importance of further negotiations: 'Of course, after the Geneva talks, there should be more meetings, and certain issues need to be discussed separately with the EU and NATO. But we are not at that stage yet. I sincerely hope that peace will come soon.'
Visit of the President of Ukraine
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov previously reported on agreements reached in Geneva. He noted that a meeting between Zelensky and Trump could happen very soon: 'We expect to organize a visit of the President of Ukraine to the USA in the near future, to finalize the last stages and reach an agreement with President Trump.'
The expressed hopes for peace negotiations and the visit of the President of Ukraine to the USA indicate an intensification of diplomatic efforts to end the conflict. This may also mark an important stage in restoring relations between Ukraine and the USA, which will strengthen support for the country amidst ongoing threats. Currently, all eyes of observers are focused on the developments and possible outcomes of future meetings of the leaders.
