According to inkorr.com: The project 'Contract 18-24: Drones' has significantly increased the interest of young people in serving in the Ground Forces as unmanned aerial vehicle operators. This was reported by Alla Punyko, a representative of the media department of the 1st recruitment center, on the military radio program Army FM.

Growing Interest in the UAV Operator Position

She noted that the UAV operator position was already popular among candidates of various ages. However, the introduction of a contract with financial benefits for youth aged 18 to 24 has further intensified interest in this specialty.

“Young candidates aged 18 to 24 have realized that they can receive additional financial benefits provided by this contract, so the demand for the UAV operator position has increased,”
— explained Alla Punyko.

Popularity of the Position Among Girls

Punyko also pointed out that the greatest interest in the UAV operator position is shown by girls. This is due to the fact that this specialty is considered less physically exhausting compared to infantry roles. In addition to drone operators, grenade launchers and scouts remain popular at the 1st recruitment center.

The '18-24: Drones' contract in the Ground Forces has significantly increased the popularity of the UAV operator position, especially among youth, particularly girls. Thanks to financial incentives and the possibility of choosing a less physically demanding specialty, many young people aged 18 to 24 are expressing a desire to serve in this area of the military forces.
