Zelenskyy Announces War Is Returning to Russia: Daily Strikes to Intensify.
Ukraine Initiates Shift in Conflict Dynamics
According to Novyny.live: On June 21, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy declared that the war is being brought back onto Russian soil, signaling a ramp-up in attacks against Russian military targets. This marks a strategic pivot for Ukraine, which has faced relentless daily bombardments from Russian forces. As Zelenskyy stated:
“They hit us every day, and we will respond every day. Without a doubt, the escalation will increase with each passing day.”
Long-Range Strike Capabilities Deployed
The straight-line distance from the Ukrainian border to certain targets reaches roughly 2,070 kilometers, though actual drone flight paths can exceed 2,500 kilometers. To carry out these operations, Ukraine is utilizing FP-2 drones developed by the company Fire Point, first unveiled in 2025. Additionally, the FP-5 'Flamingo' drones boast a flight range of up to 3,000 kilometers, enabling missions far beyond the front lines.
Zelenskyy emphasized the need for even greater reach, noting:
“We require tools for longer distances. And we are building them.”
Ukraine continues to adapt its strategy to evolving battlefield conditions, particularly through technological advancements that allow strikes deep into enemy territory. This approach reflects a broader effort to reduce threats to Ukrainian soil while enhancing the effectiveness of its defensive capabilities.
Zelenskyy’s statement underscores a tactical shift in response to Russian aggression. The intensification of attacks on Russian military infrastructure signals Ukraine’s determination to weaken its adversary’s offensive capacity. The production and deployment of advanced drone systems are central to this strategy, granting Ukraine greater operational independence and efficiency in the ongoing conflict.
