The SBU opened 14 criminal cases regarding illegal actions of VLK staff
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has initiated 14 criminal cases against employees of the military medical commissions (VLK) for their illegal actions since the beginning of 2024. This was reported by the command of the Medical Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine after a meeting with the heads of VLK units, jointly held with the SBU to prevent corruption manifestations.
According to the SBU, during the investigation of cases this year, 31 individuals were charged with committing corruption offenses.
In two cases, investigators discovered illegal activities of VLK employees who acted as part of organized criminal groups.
Typically, corruption crimes committed by representatives of military medical commissions are classified under numerous articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, including articles related to bribery, extortion of improper benefits, abuse of official position, and others.
The command of the Medical Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine declared that any manifestation of corruption is unacceptable and harms the interests of the state, especially its defense capability.
