Russia wants an 'air truce': the real goal of the Kremlin and why this is a trap.
The head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council Andriy Kovalенко revealed the manipulation with the ceasefire in the air that is being spread by the Kremlin. According to him, the idea of a truce is merely a cover to maintain the ability to aggress against Ukraine, and not to truly make peace.
The Kremlin wants to buy time, not stop the war
Kovalенко noted that discussing a truce is just a trick for interference in Ukraine. The main goal of such a strategy is to reduce losses from Ukrainian strikes that damage aviation and logistics in Russia.
'Essentially, this is a trap, as there are no plans to stop the war. On the contrary, the Russians are trying to prolong the conflict, avoiding strikes deep into the RF, as well as paralyzed air communication' - Kovalенко noted.
Moreover, Kovalенко remarked that Russian strikes have proven to be insufficiently effective from a strategic point of view, while Ukrainian military attacks have been more precise and successful. This leads to Russia seeking a 'pause' to accumulate resources for the future.
'RF needs a pause to regain strength for future strikes and avoid sanctions. And to prolong the war on the ground' - Kovalенко explained.
It is also worth noting that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sibiga has already expressed his views on ending the war, while the head of the GUR Andriy Budanov is considering four scenarios for ending the conflict.
The bottom line: The head of the Center for Countering Disinformation emphasized that the Kremlin's proposal for a truce is merely a deception to buy time, reduce losses, and accumulate resources for future strikes, having no intention of actually stopping the war.Read also
