Russian offensives in Dnipropetrovsk region: potential threat in the Kremlin's next moves
According to the Institute for the Study of War, Russian troops are approaching the administrative border of Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions, particularly near Novovasilivka and Novodarivka. Such offensives, if they occur, will mainly have informational value and will not significantly affect the situation in Dnipropetrovsk.
In particular, Russia may attempt to capture the remaining part of the Donetsk region, advancing from the southwestern side. The occupiers may also try to seize any territory, including Dnipropetrovsk region, that has tactical significance, in order to strengthen their position ahead of potential negotiations for a ceasefire.
At the same Time, Vladimir Putin has already called for the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from regions not occupied by Russia, and Russian officials continually assert claims over four regions - Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia.
Moreover, experts from the Institute reported that Russia may use its limited positions in the north and northeast of Kharkiv region, as well as on the Kinburn Spit in Mykolaiv region, for further territorial claims in the future.
Russian offensives in Dnipropetrovsk region may pose a potential threat, however, it is worth noting that Ukrainian defenders continue to actively repel the enemy and are determined to defend our territory.
