The fighting in Ukraine will end next year, but the conflict will be frozen. The Kremlin hopes to conclude negotiations by May 9.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Vladimir Putin have expressed their readiness for compromise, indicating a change in tone in the negotiations. Russia will present this as a victory. They plan to finish negotiations by May 9 for two holidays - Victory Day and the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet Union over Nazi Germany.
However, Putin faces other problems such as inflation, the devaluation of the ruble, and low economic productivity.
