Russia Prepares Information Attack Ahead of Trump-Putin Summit: Goal - to Divide the West.
Before the planned summit between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin in Alaska, Moscow has launched an information campaign aimed not only at maintaining real peace agreements, but also at undermining the unity between the US and its European allies. The Kremlin is trying to present Ukraine and European countries as the main obstacles to ending the war.
Russia Accuses Ukraine of Reluctance to End the War
According to an analysis by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Russian officials, including Dmitry Medvedev and Leonid Slutsky, accuse European countries of trying to prevent the US from ending military actions. Russian political scientist Sergey Markov has also expressed his assumptions that Moscow plans to show that the responsibility for the conflict lies with Ukraine and the West, attempting to shift the blame onto them.
According to ISW analysts, Russia's actions are part of a strategy aimed at undermining cooperation between Washington, Brussels, and Kyiv, reducing aid for Ukraine, and diverting attention from its own goals. Despite the potential for a ceasefire, Moscow may use this to its advantage, blaming Ukraine and justifying new military actions. Russian propagandists are also spreading false information about the situation in Ukraine, trying to distort the country's image on an international level.
Ahead of the planned summit between Trump and Putin, Russia is creating an information campaign to support peace agreements while simultaneously destabilizing relations between the US and European allies.
