Kuchma explained why he bought 75 pianos 10 years ago.
In 2013, the second president of Ukraine, Leonid Kuchma, bought 75 Steinway/Essex pianos, which he distributes to children's groups across the country. Currently, Kuchma helps schools, universities, libraries, and museums, regardless of their national or global significance, as well as those located in rural areas. He began this work long before the war unfolded and continues it to this day.
Kuchma noted that he particularly cares about arts educational institutions, such as music schools and colleges, centers for children's and youth creativity. Since 2013, he has purchased 75 Steinway/Essex pianos and throughout these years has been handing these instruments over to children's groups across the country. This year, six instruments have already been handed over, and five will be handed over next year, said the former president.
Kuchma emphasized the importance of supporting children and youth. He expressed his gratitude to parents and educators for how they continue education despite power outages and shelling. The politician noted that he now understands how important this work is.
Kuchma also spoke about building good relations with western neighbors and his stance on Belarus. He called Lukashenko a "servant of two masters."
Moreover, Kuchma expressed his opinion on the war with Russia. He is convinced that after the war, economic contacts with Russia are necessary for Ukraine to receive reparations.
Kuchma also noted that the war against Ukraine was not the only scenario for Putin. He was considering other ways to capture the country. But the strike against Medvedchuk's structures in February 2021 was a decisive step by the Ukrainian leadership, after which Putin realized that taking Kyiv barehanded would not be possible.
