The Armed Forces of Ukraine announced the Kursk operation

The Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine does not intend to withdraw its troops from the territory of the Kursk region, which they control. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to representatives of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, maintaining control over the Kursk region will continue for as long as it is necessary from a military point of view.

According to information from the General Staff, Ukrainian troops in the Kursk region face an enemy group of 59 thousand individuals, while at the beginning of autumn there were 40 thousand.

The leadership of the Russian Armed Forces refused the planned offensive operation in Zaporizhzhia in favor of strengthening its grouping in Kursk. In particular, the 76th Airborne Brigade was moved from the Zaporizhzhia direction to the Kursk front.

In total, about 575 thousand military personnel from the aggressor country are fighting on the territory of Ukraine. The Kremlin's plan for the autumn of 2024 envisaged having up to 650 thousand soldiers, but due to significant losses, this plan was not achieved.

Recent reports indicate progress by enemy occupiers in several directions. Ukrainian defense forces maintain positions near Vuhledar, but enemy troops are approaching Kreminna, Chasiv Yar, Toretsk, Kurakhove, and Velyka Novosilka.

According to the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the situation at the front is difficult but not critical. The fiercest battles are taking place in Kursk.

In May, the enemy planned to advance to Sumy Oblast from the Kursk region in order to create a 'buffer zone' in northern Ukraine. However, the operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region succeeded, and they outpaced the enemy.
