EU Leaders React to the Adoption of the Law on the Independence of NABU.
The President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and the President of the European Council Antonio Costa welcome the adoption in Ukraine of the law to restore the independence of NABU and SAP. European leaders emphasized that this is an important step forward.
Ursula von der Leyen and Antonio Costa called the signature of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky under the law, which aims to restore the independence of NABU and SAP, a 'positive step'. They assured that the European Union will continue to support Ukraine's efforts.
President Zelensky also commented on the adoption of the law, calling it the right move and noting that it is important to listen to public opinion.
It should be noted that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine supported the draft law restoring the powers of NABU and SAP. The new law will come into effect on August 1, 2025.
The law on restoring the independence of NABU and SAP received feedback from representatives of the European Union, who supported this step and promised further assistance to Ukraine in the fight against corruption.
