According to UATV: Lithuania is allocating over 800 million euros to bolster its national security, with a significant portion dedicated to acquiring anti-tank mines and mine-laying systems. Defense Minister Roberta Kasunas announced that 189 million euros of this funding will come from the European Union's SAFE (Security Action for Europe) program. This move reflects a broader European trend of strengthening military capabilities in response to regional instability.

The planned allocation of funds includes:

• 112 million euros for counter-mobility measures;
• 83 million euros for engineering initiatives;
• 85 million euros for surveillance systems.

Minister Kasunas emphasized the strategic importance of mobility in contemporary warfare, stating:

Germany's Military Initiative

In a parallel development, Germany is intensifying its own defense efforts by planning to purchase thousands of AI-controlled combat drones for more than 500 million euros. The delivery of these unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) is scheduled for late 2026.
