According to Novyny.live: A local resident in Lviv has been sentenced after attacking a police officer and a military recruitment official. The court handed down a four-year prison sentence, suspended under a probationary period.
The incident occurred on January 1, 2026, at 3:17 PM on Okruzhna Street, 52, in Lviv. The defendant was under the influence of alcohol at the time. As a result of the assault, the police officer sustained a traumatic brain injury, facial bruising, hemorrhaging, and a mucosal abrasion.
Half an hour later, at 3:30 PM, on General Chuprynka Street, 65, the same individual struck a military recruitment staff member, causing a fracture of the zygomatic bone.
Verdict
The Frankivsky District Court of Lviv found the man guilty under Part 2 of Article 345 and Part 2 of Article 350 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sentence was set at four years of imprisonment, with a one-year probation period. The verdict is subject to appeal.
This case highlights the seriousness of violence against law enforcement and military personnel, which can undermine public safety.
