Ukraine Records Largest Liberated Territory in a Single Month, Says Defense Minister Fedorov.
A Historic Month for Territorial Recovery
According to UATV: May marked the largest monthly gain in reclaimed Ukrainian land since the conflict began. Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov highlighted the clear tactical advantage held by the Armed Forces of Ukraine over Russian troops, emphasizing that battlefield momentum is unmistakable.
Intense Combat Operations Continue
On June 19 alone, 248 combat engagements were recorded, reflecting the sustained intensity of hostilities in active conflict zones. Ukrainian defenders repelled nearly 40 assault attempts near the Pokrovsk sector, proving their ability to hold the line against Russian advances. Despite relentless large-scale attacks on Ukrainian positions, the Defense Forces remain committed to securing and holding key strategic ground.
'Everyone sees the progress unfolding on the battlefield and in the skies over Russian territory. That is why they understand: if we keep demonstrating positive momentum and delivering results right now—if this truly is a window of opportunity—then they must believe in us and do everything possible to help us seize that window while it is open.' Mykhailo Fedorov
The surge in combat activity and Ukraine's success in liberating occupied areas show that the conflict remains in a critical phase, with the frontline situation still highly volatile. Sustained international support will be decisive in shaping the next stages of the war, as Ukraine's recent gains could become pivotal leverage in future negotiations and any eventual path to a peaceful resolution.
