Current Situation in Kostiantynivka
According to UATV: Russia has deployed roughly 11,000 military personnel to the area around Kostiantynivka, where they are attempting to infiltrate the city using small infantry squads without securing full territorial control. The total number of Russian troops in the tactical zone spanning Kostiantynivka and Druzhkivka stands at 11,000, with approximately 120 to 125 of them currently operating inside Kostiantynivka itself.
Russian forces are launching attacks from three directions: the west, east, and northeast. Despite their substantial numbers, they have achieved only marginal gains near Sloviansk. This highlights the challenging military situation in the region and suggests the aggressors are facing significant difficulties in executing their plans.
Battlefield Dynamics
Notably, May set a record for the largest area of Ukrainian territory reclaimed from occupation. According to Mykhailo Fedorov,
“May was a record month for the area of de-occupied Ukrainian territories,”underscoring the effectiveness of Ukraine’s ongoing counteroffensive operations even as Russian military pressure intensifies.
As a result, the situation in Kostiantynivka and surrounding areas remains tense, with active combat and continued Russian infiltration attempts.
The uptick in Russian military activity around Kostiantynivka signals the conflict’s persistence in the region, with both sides striving to strengthen their positions. At the same time, the expansion of de-occupied territory in Ukraine points to Ukrainian forces making headway in their counteroffensive. These developments underscore the complexity and fluidity of the situation, which continues to shape combat operations in this strategically vital area.
