Donald Trump’s Shift on Ukraine

According to Novyny.live: In a recent interview with France TV, Emmanuel Macron revealed that Donald Trump initially believed Ukraine would lose the war, but later changed his stance. According to Macron, Trump pushed for a peace agreement and acknowledged that his earlier claims about Ukraine’s defeat were incorrect. Macron noted that Trump eventually came to see Ukrainians as courageous and resourceful people who have proven their capabilities and effectiveness on the battlefield.

Trump previously met with Putin in Anchorage, where issues related to the conflict in Ukraine were likely discussed. However, the Ukrainian delegation stated that any transfer of territories is impossible. Trump emphasized that Moscow holds a significant advantage in military resources, but Kyiv continues to hold its ground. Ukrainian forces, according to available information, possess modern weaponry, including American-made equipment.

Ukraine’s Situation and International Support

Meanwhile, Washington is considering the possibility of launching the production of American missiles on Ukrainian soil. The U.S. is also discussing the imposition of new sanctions against Russia. Macron concluded:

“Since then, an enormous journey has been made. And that journey is above all a victory for Ukrainians, their abilities, and their persuasiveness.”

Macron’s comments about Trump’s change of heart may reflect an evolving perception of the conflict in Ukraine among Western leaders. Western support for Ukraine remains crucial to its defense capabilities, especially as new arms deliveries and potential sanctions against Russia are being debated. The situation in Ukraine continues to be a focal point of international attention, and the actions of Western nations could significantly influence the course of events in the region.
