Macron calls on Europe for direct dialogue with Putin: what does it mean.
According to ТСН: French President Emmanuel Macron believes that European countries need to actively engage in dialogue with Vladimir Putin.
He emphasized that it is time to find a clear and acceptable format for negotiations in which the parties can discuss key issues without unnecessary obstacles.
“Europeans should not remain on the sidelines and rely solely on third players in the negotiation process,” Macron stressed.
Macron also noted that Europe's participation in the negotiations should be active and not limited to the role of observer or mediator.
The President of the United States pointed out the importance of urgency in negotiations, stating that Ukraine needs to respond quickly, since “Russia is already there and may change its mind.”
On December 14 and 15, new negotiations took place in Berlin between the Ukrainian and American delegations, which included Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and other high-ranking officials, including the Chancellor of Germany.
During these meetings, “significant progress” was made.
The dialogue between Europe and Russia, according to Macron's statements, is an important step in addressing current security issues on the continent. The results of the recent negotiations indicate the activity of the participants in seeking ways to peacefully resolve conflicts and stabilize the situation in the region.
