Odesa Under Attack: March 19 Drone Assault

According to Novyny.live: On the night of March 19, Odesa came under a large-scale drone attack launched by Russian forces from the Black Sea. Three people were injured, and widespread damage was reported across multiple districts, including fires in residential buildings. In one strike, a drone hit an apartment block, partially destroying several units.

A fire broke out on the 14th floor of one of the affected buildings, prompting rescuers to evacuate 70 people. Two of the injured required hospitalization. More than ten vehicles were also damaged in the assault. In the Prymorskyi district, at least 12 residential buildings were damaged. In the Kyivskyi district, roughly 180 windows were blown out in a 22-story high-rise and a dormitory. A two-story house in the Khadzhybeiskyi district was partially destroyed, and 11 vehicles were damaged on the premises of a municipal enterprise.

Air Alert and Aftermath

The air alert in Odesa was sounded at 11:37 PM on March 18. Air defense systems were heard in action, and the first explosions rang out around 11:52 PM. The all-clear was given at 12:14 AM on March 19.

Marina Averina described the night as 'a difficult one, a massive attack on Odesa.'

The scale of destruction complicated rescue efforts. Affected residents received necessary assistance, and emergency crews worked around the clock to ensure public safety and clear the damage.

This attack is part of the ongoing tensions tied to the military conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
