Russia’s March 25, 2023 Attacks on Ukraine

According to UATV: On March 25, 2023, Russian forces continued their bombardment of Ukrainian territory, targeting the cities of Kharkiv and Odesa, as well as the Chernihiv and Poltava regions. These strikes resulted in civilian casualties and extensive damage to residential buildings across multiple locations.

In Kharkiv, Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported that two drones struck the Osnovianskyi and Novobavarskyi districts. Additionally, a drone attack on the village of Shevchenkove in the Kupiansk district caused damage to homes. In Odesa, a drone hit a residential building, killing one man and leaving another possibly trapped under the rubble, according to Oleh Kiper, who stated:

'One man is dead, and another may potentially be under the debris.'

In the Poltava region, Russia’s assault sparked multiple fires at various sites within the Myrhorod community. Meanwhile, in Chernihiv and the surrounding district, a strike on an energy facility left 150,000 households without electricity. The situation remains critical, as noted by the head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi.

Attacks on Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk

It is also worth noting that on March 24, 2023, Russian drones struck Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk, killing two people and raising the number of injured in the Lviv attack to 32. These incidents highlight Russia’s ongoing aggressive tactics, which continue to have severe consequences for Ukraine’s civilian population.

These bombardments are part of a broader Russian strategy aimed at destabilizing Ukraine and increasing pressure on its civilians. The rising number of civilian casualties and significant infrastructure destruction underscore the severity of the threat facing the country. The use of drones in these operations reflects an evolution in Russian military tactics, which could lead to further escalation of the conflict and demands an urgent international response.
