Fire in Kyiv: Two Dead, Nine Evacuated from High-Rise Building.
According to ТСН: As a result of a large fire in a multi-storey building in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv, two people have died. Rescuers were able to save nine individuals who were trapped in smoky apartments.
The fire started in an apartment on the fourth floor of a nine-storey building on Shuliavska Street. The flames quickly spread to the balconies of the fifth, sixth, and seventh floors.
“Unfortunately, in a severely cluttered apartment where the fire occurred, rescuers found the bodies of two individuals without signs of life,” the rescue service reported.
Nine people were blocked in neighboring apartments due to heavy smoke. One of those evacuated was handed over to medics showing signs of poisoning from combustion products.
The cause of the tragedy will be investigated by law enforcement.
It should be noted that after a massive attack by the Russian army, which led to power outages and centralized heating shut-offs in residential buildings in Kyiv, the operation of all boiler houses was restored. However, some buildings still remain without heat.
This tragic event highlights the importance of timely responses from rescue services and the preparedness of residents for emergencies, as well as the challenges faced by Kyivans in the context of modern military threats. Safety in the residential sector continues to be a pressing issue for both the authorities and the residents of the capital.
