Fuel Oil from Sunken Russian Tankers Reached Central Beach of Anapa.
On December 31, an oil spill occurred at the beach of Anapa, a Russian resort. The cleaning of the shore will begin on January 1, 2025, the city administration announced.
The monitoring group of the enterprise 'Resorts of Anapa' recorded fuel oil spills from the Healing Beach to the river Anapka. The spots are concentrated near the shore. Workers will start cleaning the shore of the oil products that were spilled during the night.

On December 15, during a storm, an incident occurred with the Russian tankers 'Volgoneft-212' and 'Volgoneft-239' in the area of the Kerch Strait, as a result of which fuel oil entered the sea. The pollution is spreading in the waters of the Black Sea.
More than 50 km of coastline, including the southern coast of Crimea, the waters of the Kerch Strait, the Black Sea, and the coastline of the Russian Federation in the Anapa area were contaminated with oil products.
In connection with the accident, a state of emergency has been declared in the Krasnodar region. As of December 17, a state of emergency has been in effect at the municipal level in Anapa and the Temryuk district of Russia. On December 21, a state of emergency was declared in Kerch when oil products reached the shores of Crimea.
It is expected that the oil spill will gradually spread in the waters of the Black Sea by January 3, 2025.
