The Mejlis made a statement about "compromises" regarding Ukrainian territories.
The statement of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people indicates that official negotiations between Russia and Ukraine regarding the end of the war must restore Ukraine's territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders. Any territorial encroachments are unacceptable, as they may lead to new military and political conflicts.
The Mejlis emphasizes that Crimea is an integral part of Ukraine, as the homeland of the Crimean Tatar people. Therefore, any decisions regarding Crimea, its status, and life at political, economic, and cultural levels cannot be made without the will of the Crimean Tatar people and the consent of the Ukrainian state.
The Mejlis congratulated Donald Trump on his election as President of the United States and expressed hope that he, along with Congress and the U.S. government, will continue to support the principles of Ukraine's territorial integrity.
