Mykhailo Fedorov on key tasks: audit of the TCC, drones for brigades, and international assistance.
Mykhailo Fedorov's speech in the Verkhovna Rada
According to Novyny.live: Mykhailo Fedorov, appointed as Ukraine's Minister of Defense on January 14, spoke in the Verkhovna Rada, where he discussed key issues related to the country's defense capabilities. Among the main topics he raised were:
- conducting an audit of the TCC;
- providing brigades with drones;
- international military assistance.
Fedorov noted that in the conditions of war, Ukraine needs to radically change its defense system. He emphasized that the problem of the TCC cannot be ignored, as it leads to failures in supplying the front, bureaucracy, and Soviet approaches that remain in the army. The minister assured that after a comprehensive audit, a systematic solution would be proposed to address the accumulated problems, which could preserve the country's defense capabilities.
An important aspect of the speech was the mention that at the beginning of the invasion, there were only 7 companies in Ukraine engaged in drone production, whereas now their number has increased to over 500. The number of companies in the field of electronic warfare has risen from 2 to 200, and the number of missile manufacturers has increased to more than 20, whereas previously there were none at all. Fedorov also noted that before the war, there were no private companies in Ukraine producing cutting-edge warfare tools, but now there are over 100.
Fedorov pointed out the importance of international military assistance, stating that Ukraine has become a global leader in drone technology. President Zelensky assigned the task of building a system capable of stopping the opponent.
'The only one who does not want peace is Russia. Our main guarantee of security is the Defense Forces, the courage and ingenuity of the Ukrainian people.' Mykhailo Fedorov
The Minister of Defense emphasized that the goal of his work is military reform, improving infrastructure on the frontline, rooting out corruption, and creating a new culture of leadership and trust. Ukraine continues to work on enhancing its defense to effectively counter the challenges it faces.
Adaptation of Ukraine's defense system
Mykhailo Fedorov's speech in the Verkhovna Rada highlights the importance of adapting Ukraine's defense system to new realities, particularly in the context of the war with Russia. The increase in the number of companies engaged in the production of drones and other military technologies indicates significant progress in the development of the country's military industry. Reforming the defense sector and active international cooperation are key elements in ensuring Ukraine's national security in the face of modern challenges.
