Ministry of Energy reports how long power outages will last.
Winter power outages will last until spring - Ministry of Energy
According to Deputy Minister of Energy Roman Andarak, winter power outages in Ukraine will last at least until spring. The energy system is operating at the limits of its capabilities, but the situation with electricity supply will gradually improve unless new strikes on the energy sector occur.
On December 12, power outages will be conducted for both residential and business consumers. Residential consumers may experience power cuts from 07:00 to 08:00, from 08:00 to 19:00, and from 19:00 to 22:00.
The energy system in Ukraine is under significant pressure due to shelling by Russia, which has damaged power plants and infrastructure. As a result, hundreds of thousands of people have been left without electricity. However, dispatchers from 'Ukrenergo' state that the situation remains under control.
Despite the increase in consumption and limitations for consumers, Ukraine continues to reduce electricity imports. Analysts report that in November this year, imports amounted to 165 thousand MWh, which is 9% less than in October.
