The Ministry of Education named the categories of men allowed to travel abroad.

Male students and teachers have regained the opportunity to travel abroad to participate in international educational programs. This was reported by the Deputy Minister of Education and Science Mykhailo Vynnytskyi. According to him, starting from 2024, male students will be able to travel for international programs, while teachers can attend conferences and professional development programs. However, a permit from the Ministry of Education and Science to the State Border Guard Service is required for military-reserve scientific and pedagogical staff to travel.

“During this period, only one scientific and pedagogical employee failed to return on Time from abroad. I also draw attention to the fact that from January 1 to April 1, 2024, higher education institutions sent 561 students abroad to participate in academic mobility programs. All of them returned without exception. I believe this is very good statistics,” said Mykhailo Vynnytskyi.

According to the Ministry of Education and Science, from January 1 to September 30, 2024, 1297 letters were sent to obtain permits for departure. All scientific and pedagogical staff and students are provided with the opportunity to travel abroad for educational purposes.

Let us remind you that from 2025, compulsory basic military training will be introduced for university students. However, this will not apply to first-year students. Also, 23,448 male students over the age of 30 were expelled from Ukrainian universities for academic failure or absence from classes between April and August 2024.
