Ukraine’s Defense Ministry Unveils Army Overhaul: Wounded Soldiers to Keep 100,000 Hryvnia Monthly.
Major Restructuring of Ukraine’s Armed Forces
According to Novyny.live: Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense has announced a sweeping reform of its military, introducing higher pay for service members, a revamped contract system, and guaranteed deferments. A central element of this initiative is financial support for soldiers undergoing inpatient treatment after being wounded.
Under the new rules, troops requiring hospital care will continue to receive combat pay of 100,000 hryvnia per month. These payments can be maintained throughout the entire period of continuous treatment, but for no longer than 12 months. The goal is to provide meaningful assistance to soldiers during their recovery.
Improving Service Conditions
This reform, launched by the Defense Ministry, aims to enhance service conditions and boost morale among military personnel. By implementing a new contract framework and guaranteed deferments, the ministry seeks to create more stable service terms and strengthen social protections for troops.
The changes mark a significant step toward better safeguarding soldiers’ welfare, especially amid ongoing military aggression. The introduction of new financial mechanisms and adjustments to contracting could streamline the recruitment and retention of skilled personnel, which is vital for the country’s defense capabilities.
It is hoped these innovations will positively impact the morale of troops and their families, as well as the overall human resources strength of Ukraine’s armed forces.
