Language ombudsman Taras Kremin spoke about how his promise to support him for a second term was not fulfilled. He emphasized that perhaps his independence was too obvious, which hindered his nomination for the competition. At the same time, he highlighted that he has open relations with the Minister of Culture. It also turned out that the nomination of other candidates for the position of language ombudsman was likely a surprise for Kremin himself.
In the linguistic space of Ukraine, there is a staffing scandal in connection with the competition for the position of language ombudsman. The dismissal of one candidate has opened the way for other alternative candidates, the main ones being actor Oleksandr Zavalnyi and associate professor Iryna Koval-Fuchilo.
