«Bohdan was a man with a capital letter. Most of all, he wanted victory in this war, he wanted to liberate our Crimea and swim in our Black Sea in full gear, calling to tell me: 'We did it, the war is over, pack your things, we are going to the sea'. He wanted to finish what our grandfathers and fathers did not, so that our children would never wear 'body armor'. He was the best, special, beloved for me. He always knew how to support me, told all his friends and comrades that after getting married, he found his happiness and he was the happiest person on this earth. He showed his love in the smallest things: no matter what Time he arrived from the East, he always had flowers, to which he left cute notes... He always told me: 'There is no problem, we will solve everything, together we are a team, the Mykhailenko family',– his wife Marina said.
Bohdan and Marina Mykhailenko started their own family during the war, on February 12, 2023.
Bohdan's comrades-in-arms tell that he glared every day of family life with his wife. For Monk, there was nothing happier than the opportunity to fly straight to his beloved, to be able to spend a few hours near her.
Marina Mykhailenko said that her Bohdan loved sports, was a certified coach. He was interested in cars and adored cooking, especially meat. Family was one of the husband's most important values.
«We planned to open a family business together, buy a large family house with a beautiful garden and a barbecue area, and in the backyard - a playground where our children would play», Marina recalls their joint plans, which were cut off by the Russian attack.
«Bohdan wanted victory in this war, he wanted our children never to wear 'body armor'. He was special, always positive, smiling, and always told me: 'There is no problem, we will solve everything, together we are a team, the Mykhailenko family',– Marina says.
Bohdan showed his love in the smallest things: no matter what time he arrived from the East, he always had flowers, to which he left cute notes.
His comrade-in-arms, special forces soldier Oleksandr, also shared memories of Bohdan.
«I met Bohdan at the very beginning of the war, in March I was transferred to their reconnaissance group. Bodka immediately seemed like such a simple, good-natured guy. When we started talking more, I found out that he was professionally involved in sports, had instructor certificates, he was proud of it. He promoted a healthy lifestyle, was sociable, we immediately became friends. Bohdan was the group's medic, so he often engaged in tactical medicine between tasks, conducted many training sessions, helped us with tactical medicine. He also loved cooking and had cool culinary talents. Sometimes he cooked for the group between tasks - we were always thrilled. Brave, kind-hearted, honest. It's a pity he's gone», the soldier told.
