The IMF intends to allocate $1.1 billion in credit tranche to Ukraine

The Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund is scheduled to meet on Friday to approve a decision to provide Ukraine with a new credit tranche of $1.1 billion under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program.

This was reported at a briefing in Washington by the Director of the IMF's Communications Department, Julia Kozak.

'If approved by our Executive Board, which will convene on December 20, Ukraine will gain access to approximately $1.1 billion,' noted the Fund representative.

According to her, the total amount of payments to Ukraine under the EFF program will increase to $9.8 billion. Furthermore, in 2025, Ukraine plans to receive several additional tranches totaling up to $2.7 billion.

The IMF representative also emphasized that the effectiveness of Ukraine's implementation of the EFF program is currently high. As of the end of September, Ukrainian authorities have accomplished all set tasks and achieved positive results for the sixth review of the program.

Kozak also noted that the current EFF program has a maximum duration of 48 months, so an extension is not envisaged.
