Combat medic Marina Grytsenko was killed on the front line: the story of a heroine.
On August 7, 2025, during a combat mission on the front lines, junior sergeant, combat medic of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade Marina Grytsenko was killed. Her life was cut short due to an enemy drone attack. Two comrades also died with her. Marina was 39 years old.
This was reported by the Chernihiv Regional Art Museum named after Hryhoriy Halahan on their Facebook page.
The life path of the combat medic
In the museum, where Marina Grytsenko worked before the full-scale invasion, details about her life path were shared. She was born on May 26, 1986, in the village of Ripky, Chernihiv region, into a family of medics. She graduated from Ripky School No. 2 and received higher education from the historical faculty of the National University 'Chernihiv Collegium' named after T. H. Shevchenko.
Marina Grytsenko was so dedicated to her work that after the full-scale invasion began, she lived with her daughter in the museum building to protect cultural heritage from looting in case of danger.
In February 2023, Marina became a shooter-paramedic of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade. She participated in battles for Kharkiv region, saved wounded comrades, and displayed exceptional bravery. In January 2025, for her courage and dedication to Ukraine, she was awarded the Order of 'For Courage' III class by the President of Ukraine.
The news of combat medic Marina Grytsenko's death on the front line attests to her immense dedication and heroism. She not only gave her life fighting for her country but also showed extraordinary courage and a willingness to sacrifice for the protection of others. Her high moral qualities and bravery were duly recognized by the state with the Order of 'For Courage' award. She will remain in memory as a true heroine who dedicated her life to serving Ukraine.
