Poachers who caught crayfish in Kharkiv Oblast are facing justice
According to inkorr.com: In Kharkiv Oblast, representatives of the fish protection agency discovered two individuals illegally catching crayfish during the ban on fishing. The damage caused amounts to approximately 3 million hryvnias.
The first case occurred at the Vilkhivske Reservoir, where the offender caught 138 crayfish. In the second case, which took place in the Bohodukhiv district, a man used 100 crayfish traps and caught 781 crayfish. Administrative protocols are being drawn up against both offenders, and materials are being prepared for the initiation of criminal cases.
The confiscated crayfish were returned to their natural habitat. We remind that during the second molting of crayfish, from August 15 to September 30, there is a ban on their catch. Ukrainian fishermen should remember that September is a wonderful time for fishing due to the activation of bites and favorable weather.
This case is another proof that the fight against poaching remains an important part of protecting natural resources in Ukraine. It is important for fishermen to comply with the legislation and not harm the ecosystem, as preserving a healthy biodiversity is a shared task for all.
