Expertise and Government Reaction

To determine the causes and circumstances of the event, 10 examinations have already been conducted, and research is ongoing. Deputy Mayor Mykola Vavryshchuk suggested the possibility of chemical substances being released into the river. Water samples have been taken for analysis, and the results of laboratory studies are expected soon.

“We are confident that this is the release of some chemical substances, as we take samples weekly... A few days ago, the results did not indicate a bad state of the river, but rather were quite good,” noted Mykola Vavryshchuk.

A similar situation recently occurred in Dnipropetrovsk region, where mass fish deaths were also reported. Local residents are concerned about this alarming trend, as they managed to collect more than five tons of dead fish in just one day.

In Khmelnytskyi, the investigation into the causes of fish deaths in the Ploska River continues. Authorities are actively conducting expertise, but final conclusions are still lacking. Similar incidents in various regions of Ukraine cause public outrage and prompt authorities to take measures to prevent mass fish deaths in the future.
