Severe power outages in Kyiv: why the situation will worsen next week.
According to ТСН: In the coming week, Kyiv will implement strict electricity outages due to severe frosts increasing the demand for electricity.
The situation with electricity supply in Kyiv
Energy expert Stanislav Ignatyev reported that after Russian shelling, electricity supply is only possible through emergency schemes. Currently, there is no way to deliver atomic electricity to Kyiv, and damaged power generation facilities in the city can only cover 20% of the demand.
“The situation remains with prolonged schedules. Unfortunately, next week we will live under quite strict schedules,”
According to the expert, residents of high-rise buildings, especially those located above the fifth-ninth floors, should be prepared for difficult conditions.
Accidents in electricity supply
Recall that on January 10, due to overloads in the energy system, Kyiv was left without electricity. This led to a complete shutdown of electric transport on the Left Bank, while on the Right Bank it operated with delays.
On the morning of January 11, it became known that electricity supply was restored to Kyiv. However, over a thousand homes still remain without heating. After the massive attack from Russia, heating was turned off in 6 thousand high-rise buildings.
The energy situation in Kyiv remains complex against the backdrop of historical failures in electricity supply. Residents should be prepared for instability in electricity and heating supply and take steps to reduce consumption during these challenging times.
