In the Kursk region, Russian troops detained a 22-year-old citizen of the United Kingdom who voluntarily joined the Ukrainian army, reports the BBC.

The UK Foreign Office has confirmed the detention of its citizen and stated that it will do everything possible to assist him and his family.

The father of the captive said that his son was convinced of the correctness of his decision and voluntarily went to war. The family is worried about their son's fate in Russian captivity.

«I hope he will be exchanged. But my son told me that they torture their captives there, and I am very afraid of that,» said the father of the captive - Scott Anderson.

Russian propagandists have also released a video in which James talks about his service in the British army from 2019 to 2023.
