In Mykolaiv region, a man caught fish worth almost half a million hryvnias.
Illegal fish catch seized in Mykolaiv region on the Southern Bug river
On January 15, law enforcement officers discovered a fisherman who was illegally catching fish on the Southern Bug river near the village of Sapetnia in the Oleshnia community. The man used prohibited fishing tools and caught 269 individuals of silver crucian carp.
The law enforcement officers seized the fish and fishing tools, with the total damage amounting to over 425,000 hryvnias.
A criminal proceeding has been opened for the article 'Illegal occupation of fish, game or other aquatic resource extraction'. For this article, a fine or restriction of freedom for up to three years may be imposed.
Police note that during the autumn-winter period, fishing is allowed only outside of wintering pits and using winter rods. The number of hooks is also limited - no more than 7 per fisherman. Additionally, fishermen should remember about measuring tools for the weight and length of fish. Only 3 kg of fish plus one individual exceeding the minimum size allowed for catching can be caught per day.
It is worth noting that this week in Ukraine, prices for carrots began to decrease.
