An employee of law enforcement in Odesa organized a channel for the illegal transportation of men to Moldova. However, he was detained while receiving money from a client, and the court sentenced him to 4 years in prison.

This was reported by the State Bureau of Investigations.

The law enforcement officer, who had good knowledge of the border area and checkpoints, decided to organize a channel for the illegal crossing of persons across the border. He involved an acquaintance who was a military man and was looking for people who wanted to get to Moldova.

The law enforcement officer was detained while he was receiving money for the transportation of two persons, amounting to 2 thousand dollars. The court found him guilty of organizing illegal border crossing and abuse of power, and imposed a sentence of 4 years in prison with confiscation of property.

Details of the case

The court found the defendant guilty under part 3 of Article 322 and part 2 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (organization of illegal transportation of persons across the state border and abuse of influence). He was sentenced to four years in prison with confiscation of property.

Ukrainian law enforcement does not tolerate violations of the law and takes decisive measures against individuals who attempt to cross the border illegally.
