Odessa collaborator sentenced to 15 years: how she betrayed Ukraine via Telegram.
The court found the resident of Odessa guilty of collaborating with Russian intelligence. The woman sent photos of Ukrainian military units and TCC to the enemy, working for the agency via Telegram.
This was revealed in the materials of the Unified State Register of Pre-Trial Investigations.
The woman surrendered the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The investigation established that in July and September 2024, while at home in Odessa and other locations, she regularly transmitted through Telegram photos and coordinates of military units, checkpoints, border units, TCC, and administrative buildings. Her curator with the nickname Newspaper BEL turned out to be a representative of the Russian special services. At the enemy's instruction, she sent photos from Google Maps, took pictures on the spot, and left comments, including about the movement of troops or the presence of military equipment.
Later, in March 2025, she received a new assignment - to gather data in the city of Bolhrad. Again, she transmitted locations with geotags and photos of military facilities. Some of the photos she took from the internet, but some she took personally, waiting for the guards to leave the facilities. She explained her activities as 'correspondence for a side income' - the enemy paid her several thousand hryvnias.
What punishment for cooperating with Russia
In court, she partially admitted her guilt. She claimed she believed in a provocation and didn't transmit anything secret. She asserted that she only 'confirmed' already known locations. However, the court established that the actions of the accused posed a real threat to Ukraine's defense capability.
The judges noted that she supported Russian aggression, condemned mobilization, discredited the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and told her curators how 'they catch guys on the street and take them to TCC'. She was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
During the trial, it was found that the woman collaborated with Russian intelligence, passing confidential information about Ukrainian military objects. For such actions, she was sentenced to 15 years in prison.Read also
