In Bolhrad, the Pushkin monument was dismantled: the bust was transferred to the museum.
In Bolhrad, located in the Odesa region, the monument to Alexander Pushkin was dismantled. The decision was made following a request from activists who demanded the removal of objects related to the poet from the cultural register of the Odesa region. The Ministry of Culture agreed, and the monument was dismantled by utility workers and transferred to the local museum for storage. Thus ended the existence of Pushkin's bust in the city park of Bolhrad.
This was reported by activists in the public organization Decolonization.Ukraine.
Activists expressed satisfaction regarding this decision in Telegram and are confident that a similar scenario awaits other monuments to Russian writers in the future. Pushkin's bust, like other 'Soviet artifacts', has been handed down to the local museum, where it will remain until its fate is decided.
