Western border: over 100 thousand people crossed the border in one day.
According to ТСН: Today, there is a high passenger flow on the western directions of the state border of Ukraine: more than 100 thousand people have already crossed the border with the European Union and Moldova.
According to the information provided by the Western Regional Office of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, on January 3, 104 thousand people and almost 18 thousand vehicles passed through the checkpoints on the western border of the country. This concerns the sections of the border with EU countries and the Republic of Moldova within the Chernivtsi region.
Entry and exit from the country
During the day, about 50 thousand people were recorded entering Ukraine, of which 45 thousand are citizens of Ukraine. 54 thousand people were processed at the border when leaving the country.
Traffic at the border
The largest flow of passengers is observed at the Ukrainian-Polish border. According to the State Border Guard Service, about 35 thousand citizens traveled to Poland in the past day. Other travelers crossed the border in the direction of other EU countries and Moldova.
In addition, border units processed 63 cargo vehicles with humanitarian aid that passed through western checkpoints during the day.
It is worth noting that the checkpoints in the Lviv and Volyn regions are currently operating under increased load.
This high passenger flow indicates that Ukrainians are actively traveling, particularly to Poland, a country where many Ukrainians traditionally reside. The increase in movement between Ukraine and Europe may be related to various factors, including seasonal trips, family meetings, and business opportunities. In addition, the allocation of humanitarian aid across the border indicates the importance of international support today.
