In Transcarpathia, criminals were transporting draft evaders to Romania in a cart under a pile of garbage.
The police of Transcarpathia, together with the Security Service of Ukraine and the State Border Guard Service, stopped an illegal channel for transporting men of draft age to Romania in the Tyachiv district. This was reported by the National Police.
Two local residents, a 59-year-old and a 52-year-old, committed the crime.
For a fee of 4500 dollars, they offered those wishing to avoid conscription to hide abroad. The price of the services included meeting clients at the station, providing them with accommodation for the night, and transportation to the border.
To carry out the crime, the criminals involved a local resident who was supposed to transport the military conscripts through a checkpoint. Thus, clients 'traveled' on a cart, hiding under a pile of garbage.
All suspects were informed of suspicion under Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal transportation of military conscripts across the state border of Ukraine). For this crime, they face up to nine years in prison.
We remind you that the Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court confirmed the sentence under which former Deputy Director of the Department of State Expertise of the State Service of Expert Control of Ukraine, Serhiy Holovaty, was sentenced to 10.5 years in prison.
