In the near future: Rubio presented Rutte with the US proposal for peace in Ukraine.
The Ukrainian delegation received a peace proposal from the US. This was reported by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte after a phone conversation with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Rubio also hopes that this proposal will contribute to achieving peace in Ukraine.
According to the official statement from the US State Department, if a clear path to peace is not found soon, the US will cease its mediating role in the peace process.
The Trump administration increased its role in attempts to resolve the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. President Trump also warned that the US would withdraw from the peace negotiations if either side created obstacles to resolving the conflict. He expressed hope for reaching an agreement and emphasized the need to stop the 'bloody slaughter' in Ukraine, where about 2500 people die each week.
