MP called for regulation of Telegram amid Durov's detention in France.
The head of the Committee on Freedom of Speech, Yaroslav Yurchyshyn, expressed the opinion that Ukraine should have strengthened the regulation of Telegram earlier than other countries would do after the detention of Pavel Durov in France. He shared this on the social network Facebook.
Now Russia is making every effort to free Durov. To avoid extradition to Moscow, he agrees to cooperate with French investigators.
This, according to Yurchyshyn, will lead to strict regulation of Telegram worldwide. However, he believes that Ukraine should have done this earlier, as we are at the frontline.
Nothing will stop the decision that should have been made back in 2022
Recall that Telegram founder Pavel Durov was detained by French special services at Le Bourget airport. He was arrested after arriving from Azerbaijan.
In addition, X social network founder Elon Musk sarcastically commented on Durov's arrest. And Russians are worried about this situation.
