MPs in the Rada Uniquely Welcomed the Release of the Ukrainian Video Game Expected by Millions.
The Verkhovna Rada welcomed the release of the Ukrainian video game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl. Deputy Mykyta Poturayev and the Russian representation listened to greetings from the developers and emphasized the significance of this achievement for Ukraine.
After the votes, several deputies appeared at the podium in t-shirts with the GSC Game World logo, the company that created the game. Mykyta Poturayev emphasized the importance of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 for Ukrainian culture and diplomacy.
«500 Ukrainian developers. Several years of waiting. All night worldwide, as they say, «servers were down». Because people were logging in to download the Ukrainian game that becomes number one in the world. Ukrainian language, no words in Russian. If there can be an achievement in cultural diplomacy - this is it, friends. Now the whole world is talking about Ukraine», emphasized Poturayev.
Yaroslav Zheleznyak called this event «cultural Ramstein» and shared his impressions on Facebook.
«A speech in the Rada greeting the release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl. Here it is, cultural Ramstein», wrote Zheleznyak.
In addition to the deputies, the project received support from the head of the Ministry of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov and the head of the President's Office Andrii Yermak. The game was released on November 20 and gained significant attention both in Ukraine and abroad.
The Game We Were Waiting For
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl is a video game created by Ukrainian developers from GSC Game World. The game's action unfolds in the Chernobyl zone after the second catastrophe. Players will have to face anomalies, mutants, and mysterious phenomena. The final result of the game will depend on the decisions made by the players. The expected gameplay duration is over 35 hours.
One of the main aspects of the game is full Ukrainian localization and the absence of Russian. The game also features songs by Ukrainian performers.
