The founder of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk, has been appointed co-head of the new 'Department of Government Efficiency' alongside Vivek Ramaswamy. However, this decision has sparked mixed reactions within the team of newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump.
Some representatives of Trump's transition team voiced concerns that Musk frequently visits the 'Mar-a-Lago' estate after the election. According to NBC News, Musk has participated in important meetings and phone calls, including a conversation between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
'He behaves as if he is the co-president,' one source noted. Musk is trying to make Trump feel indebted to him.
Trump's transition team representative Vance Carolyn Levitt stated that Musk and Trump are friends and are working together to make America great again.
Musk's plane landed in West Palm Beach last Tuesday and has been there all day. He also visited Austin, Texas, and returned to West Palm Beach, where he has been for four days.
Tesla's stock has risen more than 15% since trading opened last Wednesday, outpacing the S&P 500's increase of 1.8% over the same period.
