Nemchinov said how Ukraine plans to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.

The Cabinet of Ministers updated the tasks of the Sustainable Development Goals and the indicators of their implementation in accordance with the conditions of the full-scale war.

This was discussed at the second meeting of the interdepartmental working group on ensuring the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.

"Despite the war, we remain committed to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and set ourselves specific target values-indicators for their achievement by 2030. Within the framework of the interdepartmental working group, we have formed clear guidelines for this. At present, we are updating and actualizing the tasks and indicators, in the context of which we will collect data for monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the SDGs," said Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Oleg Nemchinov.

He emphasized the importance of implementing the Sustainable Development Goals in Ukraine.

"The resilience of Ukraine and its people in this bloody war is partly due to the established Sustainable Development Goals, which are the basis of Ukraine's strategic goal of establishing comprehensive just peace in Ukraine and security for the whole world," the official said.

For his part, Deputy State Secretary of the Cabinet of Ministers Oleg Voitovich explained that working groups have been created to implement each of the goals, mostly headed by deputy ministers. Officials in cooperation with partners from international organizations - the UN and UNDP - have updated the tasks for achieving the SDGs in Ukraine.

Voitovich also emphasized that the government has set itself the goal of achieving all the goals by 2030.

The meeting of the intergovernmental group was attended by UN system coordinator in Ukraine Matias Schmale and UNDP Resident Representative in Ukraine Jaco Cilliers.

The Sustainable Development Goals were adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as a universal call to action to reduce poverty, protect the planet, and ensure peace and prosperity by 2030.
