Massive Drone Attack Strikes Zaporizhzhia

According to TSN.ua: A major nighttime assault targeted the city of Zaporizhzhia on February 24-25, involving six Iranian-made 'Shahed' drones. The attack resulted in five civilians being wounded after one drone struck a residential area. In total, the strike damaged twelve apartment buildings and one infrastructure facility.

Eyewitness Accounts of the Attack

Resident Lyudmyla Dvirnyk described the moment of impact:

“My neighbors called me to say a drone had come. It got caught in a tree near the 6th entrance and then there was such an explosion that people were hurt.”
Another local, Tetiana Shyshko, recounted her experience:
“I read on Telegram channels that 'Shaheds' were flying. I went into the corridor; my mother was sleeping right there.”

The damage to the buildings is severe, with facades destroyed and walls blown out, underscoring the explosion's power. The aftermath of the nighttime terror has left residents in a state of fear and anxiety. The city remains on high alert as local authorities work to repair the damage and provide aid to the victims. This incident is part of a wider pattern of attacks on Ukrainian cities, which have intensified in recent months.

The attack highlights the ongoing military conflict in Ukraine and the increasing reliance on drone warfare. Restoring critical infrastructure and supporting affected residents remain top priorities for local officials amid the continuing conflict. The situation in Zaporizhzhia, as in other regions, shapes public opinion and the response to military aggression, demanding sustained attention from state authorities and the international community.
