Germany urges China to take a more active role in influencing Russia for peace in Ukraine.
Germany calls on China to join the peace process in the Ukrainian war
German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul urged China to take a more active part in the peace process regarding the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. He noted China's significant influence on Moscow, but pointed out that China has so far shown no interest in resolving the conflict.
'To any other country in the world, no other government has such a strong influence on Russia as China. Unfortunately, China has not yet utilized its potential, but it is never too late,' he emphasized.
We recall that during a visit to Paris, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stated that he is ready to coordinate efforts with France for a political resolution of the conflict. At the same time, the Chinese side rejected accusations of supporting Russia.
Germany's call for China to play a more active role in stopping the war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine is an important step in efforts to achieve a peaceful resolution of the conflict and to activate negotiations between the parties.
